Narrow alleyways and mosaics

In Pouzauges, the narrow streets form a veritable labyrinth in the heart of the town, between Rue Catherine de Thouars, Avenue des Moulins and the castle.
To highlight these passages steeped in history, the city called upon mosaic artist Sophie Ribaud, who designed a series of unique, colorful and poetic mosaics .
Fourteen alleyways make up this unusual route. The artworks, placed at the entrance and exit of each alleyway, reveal its name and illustrate its meaning with finesse: each alleyway has its own identity and each mosaic tells a story.
Let yourself be carried away by these discoveries and create your own journey to encounter this original and artistic heritage .
Practical tip: a QR code is installed next to each mosaic. Scan it and listen to the audio, which lasts 20 to 30 seconds. He will explain the history of the name of the alley and the choice that was made for the illustration of the place.

The 2026 season at Puy du Fou promises to be full of new features, including the return of Christmas and a new show.

Christmas Return

• Puy du Fou will celebrate Christmas from December 19, 2026 to January 3, 2027. This will be an opportunity to rediscover the park's iconic shows, decorated for the occasion with festive lights and entertainment.

• "The Mystery of Christmas" Show : A grand nighttime spectacle will be presented, featuring 150 artists and an original soundtrack blending classical music and Christmas carols. This 30-minute show will take place at the Gallo-Roman Stadium.

The "Small Towns of Character"® concept, created in 1975, encompasses towns and villages with remarkable heritage that are committed to preserving it. Currently, the Vendée department has eight such towns and villages, half of which are located in the southeastern part of the department. This unique density is a testament to the distinctive character of this southeastern region of the Vendée. To live here is to become one with history.

The Adventure Forest for young people, in the heart of the town

4 hiking trails offered, ranging from 6 to 21 km

The four marked trails will lead you along the many paths of our municipality and allow you to discover the varied landscapes as well as its historical heritage. You will find picnic areas along these paths where you can rest.

The routes will start from the Chenaie car park (a sign will indicate the different trails) and bring you back to the starting point. For about ten years, the GRP (long-distance hiking trail) of the Fiefs loop has crossed our town from north to south.

Nay Circuit

A short circuit ideal for a family walk with its sunken paths adorned with numerous streams.

Circuit des Puys

A pleasant route that can be done in two stages thanks to a picnic area near a stream in the heart of nature.

Sevreau Circuit

This route, encompassing circuits 1 and 2, will also allow you to discover the remains of the Logis de Puy Morin.

Logis Circuit

With a large circuit linking Montournais, Réaumur and the Grand Lay valley, you will encounter about ten historical sites.
